MIAMI - After missing last weekend’s Houston Rockets game with a flu, Turkish forward Hidayet "Hedo" Türkoğlu returned with 22 points in the Orlando Magic’s 108-101 win over the Milwaukee Bucks in an NBA matchup of injury-depleted teams on Monday night.

Rashard Lewis also scored 22 points while center Dwight Howard had 24 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Magic to victory at its home court.

The Magic saw point guard Jameer Nelson leave with a groin strain, leaving Türkoğlu play as playmaker.

Richard Jefferson scored 25 points to lead Milwaukee, which lost Andrew Bogut to a left knee bruise in the third quarter. The Bucks were already missing their starting guards Michael Redd and Luke Ridnour to injuries.

"It was a war of attrition, that's what it was,'' Orlando coach Stan Van Gundy was quoted as saying in the NBA’s official Web site. "They came in here missing guys and we came in missing one, then lost one and had one in foul trouble. Neither team was playing with the guys they really wanted to play with most of the night.''

Orlando led by 12 with just under two minutes left, but poor free throw shooting and Jefferson almost brought the Bucks back. His short jumper with 24 seconds left cut the lead to 103-100, but free throws by Türkoğlu and Lewis sealed the win.

Meanwhile, Turkish center Mehmet Okur was the high-scorer in Utah Jazz’s 101-100 home loss to Chicago Bulls.

Shorthanded
Okur had 26 points and nine rebounds for the Jazz, who were missing Deron Williams, Carlos Boozer, Kyle Korver, Matt Harpring and Jarron Collins. Despite being shorthanded, Utah was close to a win, but knocked down by a buzzer-beater three-point by Larry Hughes.

With Chicago trailing 100-99, rookie Derrick Rose took an 18-foot jumper that bounced high off the rim and right to Hughes, who beat the buzzer and the Jazz from 22 feet away.

"We needed that win and we didn't care how we got it,'' said Rose, who scored 10 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter. This was only the second win of the Bulls on away games this year, and Utah’s first loss since the loss to the Los Angeles Lakers last March.
