The Theater Train, which was created in collaboration with the Turkish State Railways, or TCDD, and Turkish State Theaters, was used for theater performances across Turkey last year. European Theater Convention, or ETC, members that saw the train last year requested theater performances for other European countries.

Upon this request, the "The Orient Express European Theater Train That Goes Beyond Borders" was formed by the TCDD and state theaters. The Theater Train will host performances May 14 to 17 at the Ankara Train Station and May 20 to 23 at Istanbul’s Haydarpaşa and Sirkeci train stations. The train will be in Romania from May 26 to June 2, in Serbia from June 3 to 10, Croatia from June 11 to 18, Slovenia from June 19 to 25 and Germany from June 26 to July 19.

The state theaters are planning to stage five new plays during this European tour.
