Senyuz was beaten by security officials at the Ankara Sheraton Hotel on Saturday while he was following the wedding ceremony of State Minister Murat Basesgioglu's son.Â

The hotel's two security officials used force against Senyuz for smashing flowers in the hotel breaking his arm in five places.

"It is impossible to comprehend the violence our colleague faced, while he was only doing his job. Private security continued their violence against our friend even as he laid on the ground with a broken arm, demanding help," the Photojournalists Association (FMD) said in a statement.

The FMD called for a boycott on the Sheraton Hotel by all media institutions on Tuesday. "The attack on Şenyüz was a purposeful attempt according to the FMD. We call on the hotel managers to apologize," the directors' board of the Association said.

While the hotel's general director, Jaques Chevesson, expressed his sorrow over the incident, media institutions slammed the use of force by hotel officials.

Likewise, the Parliament Journalists Association (PMD), strongly condemned the attack, calling it "despotism."
