Turkish financial markets boosted by AKP victory

The emergence of the ruling AKP as a single leading party in parliamentary in this weekend's general elections has shown its effect on Turkish financial markets, with a rise by 55,000 points on the Istanbul based stock market Monday morning.

This is an overall 3% rise in market value. Meanwhile, drops in the dollar and interest rates are also being observed. Experts are noting that not only the emergence of the AKP once more as a single power, but also the speech by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan last night, with positive signals towards the upcoming presidential election process, have all boosted the markets.
