Official sources in Ankara report that the Sunday bombing of PKK terror sites in northern Iraq was aimed at the PKK's 9 main camps, and an estimated 3,500 armed terrorists there. These camps are the Kandil, Hakurk, Hinere, Lolan, Zap, Metina, Havasin, Haftanin, and Mahmur camps.

In the meantime, following the early morning Sunday bombings of PKK camps in the Kandil Mountain range along the Turkish-Iraqi border, an internet site connected with the Kurdistan Patriotic Union said that the camps had sustained heavy losses. Kurdish-backed Roj TV, which sometimes acts as a spokesforum for the PKK, reported yesterday that the Turkish air campaign against the PKK camps had been in coordination with Iran. Another spokesperson for the PKK, Ferman Garzan, alleged that the Turkish bombing of PKK camps had in fact not caused heavy losses, as the bombs had mostly hit emptied out sites.
