The recommendations made by the government until now have failed to bring about a solution to the crisis, Tugrul Kutadgobilik, the president of TISK said at union meeting entitled, "Economic Crisis".
"Yes some measures have been taken, some ministries did some took their own initiatives to take steps, but all the efforts were scattered and insufficient," he said.

The confederation which was established in 1961, largely in response to the development of trade unions, represents 23 employer unions including textile, tourism and construction sectors.

Kutadgobilik said that the recent Economic and Social Council meeting, which was held with the participation of both government and social bodies, was hurriedly organized and that the crisis was not well managed.
"It is still not being managed well," he said.
The Turkish real sector is on the edge of canceling production, Kutadgobilik said. The economic crisis has taken a back-seat, while issues in politics and the upcoming local election top the government’s agenda, he said, as he urged the government to set the economy as a priority.
"The economy should be the top priority for the government. It should not be forgotten that political success depends on economic developments. In this context, an immediate stimulus package is need."Â
