ANKARA - The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality is organizing trips to metro construction sites for the benefit of the public. The ongoing construction of the metro line in Sincan, Çayyolu and Keçiören districts will be open to visitors who are curious about the construction work.

According to information given by the municipality, the trips to the construction sites are an answer to news articles that have said, ’The metro construction has stopped’ and ’There isn’t any development in Ankara’s metro line.’

44-kilometer railway
The announcement said the metro line that goes through Sincan, Çayyolu and Keçiören districts is a 44-kilometer railway and the trips are open to everyone who wants to participate and see the latest stage.

The trips to the sites will start Feb. 14 and continue until March 22. They will be organized on Saturdays and Sundays between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. There will be three different metro construction trips.

For the Sincan Metro, participants are asked to meet at the Fatih stop at 11 a.m. to walk around the station. From the Fatih stop, construction vehicles will pick up visitors and head to the Industrial Zone stop. The trip will show the ongoing work on the metro line and carry participants to the meeting point for free by buses running from in front of the Etimesgut Municipality Building, Migros supermarket at Eryaman 1st Crossroad and Sincan Lale Square.

For those visiting the Çayyolu Metro the meeting time is 11 a.m. in front of the Middle East Technical University, or ODTÜ, station. The participants will be taken to Köy Hizmetleri station. For the Keçiören Metrosu the meeting point is the back of the Fatih Sultan Mehmet High School.

During the trips organized by the municipality participants will be offered refreshments.
