Three university students who survived the recent Turkish Airlines crash in Amsterdam told of how the plane fell from the sky and issued photographs of the very first post-crash moments in an exclusive to Hurriyet daily on Monday.

"The plane suddenly made a move like a sharp dive when it was descending. Then, it tried to climb again. At that time, I heard a very loud crashing sound coming from below us," said crash survivor Volkan Dagasan, describing the moments just prior to the accident to Hurriyet.

Flight TK-951 from Istanbul crashed about 1.5 kilometers short of the runway at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport on Wednesday morning, breaking into three sections. The flight was carrying 134 people, including seven crew.

Nine people, five Turks and four Americans, were killed in the accident, while dozens were injured. The initial findings regarding the cause of the crash are expected to be announced on Wednesday.

The photographs were taken just moments after the crash by survivors who were among the first to evacuate the plane.
