Sezer to the Moslem World: End the Isolation of

President Ahmet Necdet Sezer called today on the Moslem world to take steps ending the isolation imposed on Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Standing Committee for Economic and Trade Cooperation (COMSEC) of the Organization of the Islamic Conference and the Economy Conference of the Organization of the Islamic Conference in Istanbul, Sezer said that "In the negotiating process that ended with the April 24 referenda in Cyprus, the  positive stance taken by the Turkish side for a settlement , had been appreciated by the whole world.The report of the UN Secretary General in May, had asserted that no reason remained to press Turkish Cypriots and to isolate them from the world. It also strongly urged the international community and the members of the Security Council to end the restrictions and embargo imposed on Turkish Cypriots.  "We know that the OIC member friends of Turkey share the view that Turkish Cypriots should be freed from international isolation. We expect from all the friendly and brotherly members of OIC to take more concrete steps to end the isolation policies imposed on Turkish Cypriots. "  President Sezer recalled that the foreign ministers meeting of OIC in June had pointed out to the unfair treatment of Turkish Cypriots and has decided to further relations and provide help to Turkish Cypriots.  Sezer said "In the context of this decision sustained in the OIC meeting in September in New York, we believe that the time has come to further relations with Turkish Cypriots, in all fields." Â
