"Those who are responsible for this savagery will not escape the end that is awaiting them, wherever they are.

ABDULLAH GUL - TURKISH PRESIDENT

"I condemn those who are responsible for these inhuman attacks displaying the brutality of terrorism and targeting innocent people. I want to reiterate once again that the determination and the power of our people and state will not allow those who aim at harming our unity and tranquility with gory acts of terror, to reach their heinous targets. No one can reach their goals by claiming the lives of innocent people in acts of violence."

GEN. YASAR BUYUKANIT - TURKEY'S GENERAL STAFF CHIEF

"I strongly condemn the abhorrent attacks in Gungoren district targeting our innocent citizens. The attacks which were staged in a crowded street at a busy hour and without discriminating between men and women, young, old and children, showed once again the gory face, ruthlessness and despair of terrorism. I believe that those who carried out this inhuman bombing will be arrested and brought to justice to account for their acts.

"This incident will further consolidate our unity and solidarity in our fight against terrorism and strengthen our determination.

"It shall be a lesson for those who are trying to mask terrorism with high values of humanity."

JAAP DE HOOP SCHEFFER - NATO CHIEF

"I condemn in the strongest terms the bombings that occurred in Istanbul... These appalling terrorist attacks targeted innocent civilians in a deliberate and brutal way.

"NATO will continue to stand firmly in solidarity with the Turkish people in the fight against terrorism."

TURKISH INDUSTRIALISTS' AND BUSINESSMEN'S ASSOCIATION (TUSIAD)

"The need for the importance of unity and integrity, which started to increase in recent days, is attempting to be harmed with this attack and other attacks similar to this. These attacks targeting Turkey's common sense, peace and stability aim to lead Turkey into an atmosphere of chaos. But those who hope to gain from terrorism will never be able to reach their goal.

Haberin Devamı

“We, as TUSIAD, have no doubt that our society will defend our unity and integrity after this treacherous attack and continue to behave with a common conscience and sense of feelings against such attacks. We curse this attack with loathing and send our condolences to those who lost their lives and patience to their relatives and Turkish society."

GORDON JOHNDROE - U.S. NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL SPOKESMAN Â

"The bombs planted in concrete rubbish containers on a street with shops and cafes in the popular Gungoren neighborhood on Istanbul’s European side were a "callous and calculated act of indiscriminate terrorism against innocent passers-by.

DAVID MILIBAND - BRITISH FOREIGN SECRETARY

"The attacks on innocent civilians deserve the condemnation of the international community."

CARL BILDT - SWEDEN'S TOP DIPLOMAT
