Raped girl gives her evidence in tears

A 13-year-old girl, who was raped by 28 people for 7 months in Mardin, told how she was encouraged by a woman to have sexual intercourse with men, in return of money, in the hearing held on Friday. The young girl, who has been under psychological treatment at the moment, is kept under protection in Istanbul for a likely pressure from defendants and their families.31 defendants have been tried at the Mardin 1st Heavy Penal Court on grounds of raping the young girl. Among the defendants, there were some public officials and leading names of the city of Mardin and for this reason the case grabbed a lot of attention.
