World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz, who is in Turkey for two days of official meetings, has noted personal pride over the close relations between Turkey and the World Bank, saying "Our relations are not the kind which can be expressed only by the dollar. Our relations involve finding solutions to problems, and bringing our expertises together to move forward in problem solving."

Speaking with State Minister Ali Babacan yesterday in Istanbul at a joint press conference, Wolfowitz said "My collegues and I are convinced that EU membership for Turkey would not only contribute much to Turkey, that it would also contribute much to the EU itself."
