One Turkish soldier died Monday in an operation targeting the outlawed PKK in a southeastern province of Turkey, Dogan News Agency reported. (UPDATED)

The Turkish soldier died in the Sason district of Batman province, Dogan News Agency reported.Â
Turkey, provided with intelligence by the United States, has stepped up military action against the PKK since December.
The PKK is listed as a terrorist group by much of the international community including the United States and the EU.
