The phone conversations of Necmettin Erbakan (The founder of the political Islamic movement in turkey) to get rid of prison sentence, were inserted to the file of the Lancet 2 investigation. These conversations show that he paid a bribe of 20 thousand DM and his wife Nermin 100 billion TL to influence the rulings of the court. IN spite of this money, the Appeals Court upheld the prison sentence given to Erbakan.Upon this development, Erbakan’s niece Esra Altintas attempted to get the money back. Erbakan and his 78 friends were convicted of spending irregularly, the financial assistance extended to their Welfare Party. Erbakan was rescued of a prison sentence under the latest amendments in the Penal Law. Â
