Inventor makes local Batmobile

AĞRI - An inventor in the Doğubayazıt region of the eastern province of Ağrı has built a car inspired by the comic strip character Batman from a derelict Murat 131 brand car. Mechanic İsmail İlhan, a member of the Doğubayazıt
Inventors and Scientific Studies Association, said his two-seater car can catch any crook who has a car that travels slower than 150 kilometers per hour.
İlhan said their 19-member association could do a lot more. "I worked a year to build the copy of Batman’s car. I may install computers into it in the future. The name of the car is Mucit-1 [Inventor-1], and I will complete the necessary applications to get a road permit for it," he said.
Abdulcebbar Demirbaş, the head of the association, said their membership policy was restricted and that members were constantly coming up with interesting inventions. "We have around 4,000 projects, including a car that works with water," he said. "Our only disappointment is the lack of support from the state."
