--DON'T BE SAD, WE WON

Turkey lost out to Germany in a Euro 2008 semi-final match 2-3, but the entire world applauded Turkey. The Turkish national soccer team bade farewell to the championship with a goal they conceded in the last minute of the game in which they played perfectly. Everything began so well.

The friendship that began outside the stadium before the match continued inside the stadium during the game. Thousands of fans carried Turkish and German flags and backed their teams arm-in-arm. The Turkish national team, which had knocked out of their opponents from the championship with the goals they scored in the last minutes of the games, conceded a goal in the last minute and thus, Germany reached the final.

Turkish national soccer team's coach Fatih Terim said that he would decide on whether or not continuing to serve as the Turkey coach after a meeting with the chairman of the Turkish Football Federation. Terim said he was thinking of working for a European team. The Italian RAI TV channel argued that Terim would be the coach of FC Napoli.

--GLORIOUS FAREWELL

The Turkish national soccer team had nine suspended and injured players, and their opponents were Germany. Turkey took on Germany in the Euro 2008 semi-final in Basel, Switzerland and gave the entire world watch an excellent show of football.

Turkey were ahead 1-0 in the 22nd minute with Ugur Boral's goal but this happiness lasted only four minutes, with the first half ending drawn, 1-1. The German team was pressing in the first minutes of the second half but Turkish national team balanced the game and then took control of the match. Turkey missed many goal opportunities; however, Germany scored its second goal. Then Semih Senturk scored a goal and Turkey again drew with Germany 2-2. However, Germany scored a third goal in the 90th minute and qualified for the final.

Turkey bade farewell to the cup due to a last-minute goal but got the appreciation of the entire world with the football they played.

--TERIM QUITS

Turkish national soccer team's coach Fatih Terim told the players after the semi final match that he would like to go on with the team, but it did not seem possible. Speaking to reporters, Terim said that he bade farewell to his footballers by telling them that they would be more successful from now on. Terim said he would be the coach of a European team. Also goalkeeper Rustu Recber said that he would not play in the national team from now on.

Turkish national soccer team, who added color to the Euro 2008 championship, dominated Germany but could not beat them in the semi-final match. The world gave a standing applause to the performance of our national team, who said goodbye to the championship.

Turkish national soccer team's coach Fatih Terim made a farewell speech to his players in the changing room after last night's spectacular game. Terim thanked each of the players and told them that they put their mark on the tournament.

President Abdullah Gul visited the changing rooms of the Turkish national soccer team after the semi-final match in which they were defeated by Germans 2-3. Gul congratulated coach Fatih Terim and the players.

Gul said, "Don't be sorry, I am proud of you. Everybody in the VIP stand told me that Turkey played very well and it was Turkey's right to qualify for the final." Gul hopes that Turkey has the chance to play in the final of the Euro 2010.

--BASBUG CRITICISES MEDIA

Land Forces Commander Gen. Ilker Basbug said that Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan and he debated the fight against terrorism in their meeting two days ago.

Basbug, who complained about certain news reports appearing in the media, said, "Certain media organs sometimes publish information they receive without confirming if it is true or not. If such incidents continue, our country may face difficult situations. The media and the press may receive certain information from various sources; however, we are asking them to get confirmation before running them as news."

The Turkish national soccer team, which lost out to Germany in the semi-final game, concluded their miraculous advance just one step before the final.

Turkey put in a spectacular performance in the first half which resulted with a 1-1 draw. Turkey failed to stop Miroslav Klose's goal in the second half. Turkey, who evened the score with a goal by Semih Senturk in the 86th minute, could not prevent Philipp Lahm's goal in the last minute and bade farewell to the championship. The referee of the game drew criticism due to his decisions.

While the Turkish people were expecting another legend from their players, they were knocked out of the tournament with a goal by Philipp Lahm in the last minute.
