Former naval forces commander: My wife ate little

Former Naval Forces Commander Admiral Ilhami Erdil stood trial on Tuesday on grounds of abuse of power and corruption. His demand to have a trial close to the press was rejected by the court. Denying the allegations made to him, Erdil said that !If I knew that such accusations would come, then I would keep the list of every water I drank, every yogurt I ate and every tissue we used.”Erdil who is being tried along with his wife Fusun and daughter Deniz at the military court said that he was under a slander campaign in relation to a tender of the Naval Forces which he ordered. The court gave him an additional right to defense considering that the crime of abuse of power might be amended. Later on Erdil demanded to be tried on grounds of violating the power, which requires lesser punishment. The court decided after the 6-hour hearing to keep Ilhami, Fusun and Deniz Erdil away from the court hearings. At the hearing Erdil explained how he bought his homes which he had not declared in his statements and said that “My wife is a perfectionist. She choose the buffet according to the choices of our high-level guests. In fact she does not have much appetite.” �
