Following a general outcry over the violence and terror displayed on the popular television series "Valley of the Wolves," which began its new series last week with a planned set of epidodes labeled "Terror," Show TV has announced that it is lifting the controversial program from its broadcasting schedule.
The Turkish RTUK (Radio and Television High Board) met this week with Show TV General Manager Saner Ayer to express worries over the reaction to the new episodes, as well as to reiterate complaints that had already by lodged as a result of the former episodes. According to RTUK authorities, there were a total of 16,597 telephone calls made between January 1-February 13 2007 regarding the start-up of "Valley of the Wolves-Terror" episodes, with the vast majority of these calls being against the series.
