Let's cast a quick look at events we have seen in Turkey and abroad over the past few days, and in this way, see who is dragging our country in which direction, and how ignorantly our country is being governed. President Sezer in Syria. Over the past few months, various officials from the government have visited this rare bird, Syria. Syria, which for years fed and clothed and used against us that killer, Abdullah Ocalan. In 1998, out of fear of Turkey, it was forced to deport Ocalan. We experienced terror, lost tens of thousands of our people, because of them. But has Syria apologized to us? NO! Have they expressed regret? NO! Have they accepted any error in judgement for what they did? NO! We are a country which did not put our foot down in the face of these facts. What a shame.  Next to us, the US is busy setting up a puppet government. Iraq! The PKK is active in Northern Iraq. Turkey's sworn enemy, Talabani, has been elected President of Iraq. But do we have a presence in Northern Iraq? NO! Do we have an Iraqi policy? NO!  Meanwhile, we are begging, pleading at the doors of the EU to be let in. And the EU is playing cat and mouse with us. The other day, the European Parliament had a "moment of silence" for the "Turkish genocide of the Armenians." Did we respond to this officially? NO! And now the European Parliament wants us to set up diplomatic relations with Yerevan in pursuit of opening the Turkish-Armenian borders. Our response? NOTHING!  Take a look at Cyprus. Other than leaving Rauf Denktas (President of the Republic of Northern Cyprus) out in the cold and finishing him off, what have we succeeded in doing? NOTHING!  What about what the Prime Minister experienced in Norway? He got angry....but he shouldn't have. This is Europe. None of these things, including the eggs thrown at his head, are crimes there. And they aren't in Turkey either, thanks to the AKP. So PKK supporters asked Erdogan some questions...let them ask! Doesn't this enter the realm of "freedom of expression"? It does! So they held up banners in support of the PKK. Of course they did! Don't they furl those banners in every corner of Turkey? Anyway, in order to enter the EU, the AKP has made all of these things non-crimes in Turkey. So if they're not crimes in Turkey, how can you be angry at the Norwegians for things that aren't crimes there either?  However, the Prime Minister's latest European trip has had some advantages. Now he has really learned how Europe is. Maybe his eyes have opened to some of the realities of Europe and the EU...but it was clear what was going to happen anyway. After all, the Norwegian Ambassador to Turkey showed up at Nehvruz festivities in Diyarbakir, mingling among the banners. I asked in this column whether or not the Turkish government was going to protest that maneuver. But I guess they learned their lesson in Norway.  In a meeting concerning Turkey that takes place in the US Congress, an Armenian priest says that of Ataturk "Kemal was a butcher." What are you going to say, and to whom?  Dear readers, take a look at these disgraceful events, at the terrible position our country has been put into, and note how we don't react to any of them. We have sat right into the lap of Europe, the EU, the US...you wouldn't believe it!  Our presence in puppet government run countries like Syria and Iraq in non-existant. Our national honor is stained. We are living in the second period of capitulation. If it were you, would you express respect for a country like us, or would you do your best to not to listen to it? The other countries are doing the latter of course! If the glove fits....Â
