An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the richter scale hit the southeast of Turkey on Saturday, reported the Kandili Observatory in Istanbul. Residents of the town of Puturge in the Malatya province rushed out into the streets in panic and fear when the quake struck at 15.56 GMT.
