EU foreign ministers have reassured officials from the three countries that the door to the EU remains open despite a stalemate on entry talks with Croatia, and overall uncertainty about the bloc’s expansion.
EU envoys also met with representatives from Albania, Bosnia, Montenegro and Serbia at Saturday’s talks at a medieval castle in the southern Czech Republic. But those four countries’ hopes of joining lag far behind Croatia, Macedonia and Turkey.
