Two special coordinators against the PKK

In an attempt to find a solution in their mutual struggle against the PKK terrorist organisation, Turkey and the United States are to appoint two representatives.

US President George Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice proposed assigning two ‘special coordinators’ in the fight against the PKK during meetings with Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdoğan and Foreign Secretary Abdullah Gül on 22nd July.
Diplomatic sources have indicated that these coordinators will either be retired military officers or diplomats.
