The army said the targeted terrorists were hit in the Zap region, a stronghold of the terror organization.     Â

Sunday's operation is the latest in a series of raids after the bloody attack on a border outpost which killed 17 soldiers and injured 20 others.

The Turkish Armed Forces continued operations in pursuit of PKK/KONGRA-GEL terrorists, the Turkish General Staff said in a statement, adding the planes have all returned to their bases safely.Â

Only PKK positions were targeted and all the necessary measures were taken to avoid any civilian casualties, the statement added.
