A Turkish vessel carrying sulphuric acid hit rocks near Bandirma, Sunday. The 19-person-crew vessel was carrying cargo from Samsun to Bandirma when it ran aground as it hit the Trak Rockies on Fener Island. None of the sulphuric acid leaked into the sea. Captain Ekrem Ozdemir reported the incident to the Istanbul Coast Guard Search and Rescue Centre. All crew members were said to be safe. The vessel's cargo is also said to be intact. Â
