TRNC sends aid to Pakistan

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) are sending search-and-rescue teams to Pakistan to help with relief efforts following last weekend's 7.6 magnitude earthquake that resulted in over 20,000 dead and 41,000 injured and displaced. A Turkish Cypriot Airlines (KTHY) plane carrying a 12-member search-and-rescue team, 5-member health team and 12.5 tons of humanitarian aid including foodstuff, blankets, medicine and equipment will leave for Pakistan via Turkey on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, TRNC Parliament Speaker Fatma Ekenoglu called on all Turkish Cypriot people to extend a helping hand to quake survivors.
