Russian manufacturing contraction slows

MOSCOW - Russian manufacturing contracted at the slowest pace for five months in March as companies reduced their stocks of unsold goods and the decline in new business eased, VTB Capital said.
VTB’s Purchasing Managers’ Index was at 42 last month after a 40.6 reading in February, the Moscow-based bank said. A figure below 50 means ontraction.
