A suspected recruiter (U.Y) for the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) has been detained by Izmir's anti-terrorism police squad. The man arrested is believed to have been recruiting new members for the PKK and sending them to northern Iraq for special training. Police launched an operation after receiving a tip-off last week after a note was found a second man's (A.Y) family saying that he was going to join the PKK. After distributing photos of the missing man, A.Y, he was detained at the Diyarbakir bus station in the southeast of Turkey. While being interviewed by police, the man said that his relative had convinced him to join the PKK and that U.Y had recruited other members of the PKK. Both men were detained by the police. Â
