The restrictions on the media and political parties were removed from the banking draft which was prepared by the Banking Inspection and Regulation Board (BDDK).The draft motion named “Credit Foundations Law” did not include the article which restricted banking activities for the media, political parties and trade unions. Before being sent to the government, a second work on the draft was launched and the relevant article was excluded from the draft on grounds of being unparalleled to the regulations in the European Union. The draft motion is expectedly to be tackled at Parliament soon. According to the statement of State Minister Abdullatif Sener, the draft foresees to increase the flow of information to the Banking Regulating Board BDDK, formation of a Credit Organizations Institute and a new board within the bank directors board. The cost of starting a bank was pulled down to 30 trillion TL, by a 20-trillion deduction, in the new draft.
