Multi-faith funeral held

Fields Thomas-Parker came to Turkey a week ago to visit his daughter, Mary Geraldine Hives, who lives in neighboring Babataşı. Parker, who was diabetic and astigmatic, was found dead in a bedroom in his daughter’s villa. According to a statement made by the izmir Forensic Medicine Institution, Parker fell as he tried to lie down in his bed. Parker was buried at the Çatalarık cemetery in Fethiye, which he used to call heaven. During the service, a priest, Edward Park, read prayers from the Bible, and Imam Ramazan Bozbaş prayed at the grave. Parker’s son, Mike, also attended the funeral. Parker’s children said their father liked Fethiye. We will pay a visit to his gave whenever we come to Fethiye, they said.
