The First Turkish-German Economy Congress will be held in Turkish commercial hub of Istanbul between May 4th and 6th, Kemal Sahin, the Chairman of Turkish-German Chamber of Commerce & Industry, said on Friday. Sahin stated that the congress would be held in cooperation among Turkish-German Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Union of Chambers & Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and German-Turkish Chamber of Commerce functioning in Turkey.German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and 600 German businessmen would be in Turkey to attend the congress, Sahin noted.Sahin said, ''this congress is a big opportunity for foreign capital inflow. We will create partnership opportunities and promote Turkey.''Noting that Turkish businessmen who are willing to undertake projects in Europe would be briefed on investment opportunities in Germany, Sahin added.On the other hand, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to attend the congress.The congress will be attended by about 1,200 Turkish and German businessmen. Ministers, representatives of big companies and non-governmental organizations from Turkey and Germany will discuss economic developments, problems and how to solve them.On the last day of the congress, participating foreign investors will be taken to cities granted with incentives, as well as to free zones.Â
