French envoy watches nuclear bid

MERSİN - The French ambassador to Ankara, Bernard Emie, in his visit to the deputy governor of the southern province of Mersin said he was closely following the developments of the region's nuclear power plant.
Significant partnerships had occurred in Mersin, Emie said. A nuclear power plant is planned to be built in the district of Akkuyu. Emie was in Mersin as a French vessel on duty for the U.N. was anchored there. Emie also recalled that in the recent past the French and Turkish armies had cooperated for peace.
