The exports of Turkey rose by 25.1% and her import increased by 31.6% in August. According to the August foreign trade data, which the State Statistics Institute publicized, in August, Turkey had 3 billion 708 million 228 thousand dollars of exports and 5 billion 768 million 703 thousand dollars of imports.

Therefore the foreign trade deficit of Turkey rose by 45.1% when compared to the same month last year from 1 billion 420 million 89 thousand dollars to 2 billion 60 million 475 thousand dollars. The ratio of exports over imports fell from 67.6% to 64.3%.

In the January-August period of this year the exports of Turkey rose by 30.4% when compared to the same period last year to 29 billion 325 million 237 thousand dollars and imports increased by 33.5% to 42 billion 408 million 857 thousand dollars.

The foreign trade deficit in the same period increased by 40.8% to 13 billion 83 million 620 thousand dollars, while the ratio of exports over imports fell from 70.8% to 69.1%.
