Denktas Reacted At U.S.

Turkish Cypriot President Rauf Denktas said that U.S. started to interfere with the elections in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Denktas said, “The American side started to intervene into the December elections with all its representatives and ambassadors. They started to shadow the elections. The reaction of our public is increasing, proportionally.”Denktas argued that if the Annan Plan was accepted, Cyprus would turn into a Greek Cypriot island in 10 years and that there was no problem between the Turkish government and him on the issue. Denktas said, “there are two societies, two democracies, and two states in Cyprus. And the continuation of Turkey’s active support is necessary.”�
