Avalanche of anger over Danish caricatures

A group of approximately 500 people demonsrated yesterday in the Turkish city of Halkali over the caricatures of Prophet Mohammed printed in a Danish newspaper, and re-printed last week in several European newspapers.
During the protest, an effigy of Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen was paraded about until protestors poured benzene over it and burned it. People attending the protest held signs and posters reading "Disrepectful barbarians," "Hands that touch the Prophet shall be cut off," "Damn the US and Zionism," and "We will come and break your pens."
