Ataturk and Venizelos worked hard for the peace between the two nations, Turkey and Greece, Grapsas told reporters as he met Turkish General Staff Chief Yasar Buyukanit in Ankara.  Â

Both countries have been very lucky to have such great leaders in their histories, "Therefore it is our duty is to continue to follow in their steps. We must do this if we want to relieve our history and show we care for our people as much as we have always said," Grapsas said.  Â

"If we, as soldiers, provide a secure environment, then politicians will be able to establish better dialogue," said Buyukanit, adding he was pleased to host Grapsas in Turkey
