Singers and bands from 18 countries competed at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest second semi-final at Belgrad Arena on Thursday.Â
Turkey was ranked 9th among the ten finalist; Latvia, Croatia, Albania, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Ukraine, Iceland and Georgia.
The final will take place on Saturday. Â
Serbia won the right to host the competition after Marija Serifovic, from Serbia, came away with the top prize last year.
The band "Mor ve Otesi", established in 1995, released its first album "Sehir" (The City) in 1996.
Turkey won the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest with Sertab Erener's song "Every way That I Can," while Turkish band Athena came fourth the following year with the song titled, "For Real."
