He was arrested in 1971 and taken to "Ziverbey Mansion", a notorious place for the interrogation methods of torture. He sent a coded message in his written statement taken during the interrogation. The second letter of each second word from the end of the sentence read as "I am being tortured" from up to down. After he was released he wrote a book called the "Ziverbey Mansion" about the tortures he had been through.
He was claimed of being the ideologue of "Redapple Coalition" which is said to be bringing the nationalism and left ideology under the same umbrella.
