Businesses turn to innovation

ISTANBUL - As the global financial turmoil begins to be felt in the Turkish economy, leaders of the country’s business world have begun to recognize the concept of innovation as a tool that could "save the future."
"Many business leaders believe innovation will be the key for the success in the near future," Ahmet Dördüncü, chief executive of Sabancı Holding, said late last week in Istanbul, speaking at the 7th Management Summit organized by Eduplus Consulting.
"The global economic crisis has already arrived to Turkey. At this time, majority of the business leaders believe innovation is an instrument that will save the future as well as render our business quarters more active and profitable," said Dördüncü. "The business leaders should go beyond sharing their innovative ideas in coffee shops or lunch breaks. The firms should support and integrate innovative approaches in their business processes."
