Turkey to investigate pro-Kurdish DTP leader's remarks

The Diyarbakir prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into Ahmet Turk, leader of the pro-Kurdish Democratic Society Party, over his recent statements in the province on Tuesday, CNNTurk reported on Wednesday. (UPDATED)

On Tuesday, Turk said the military coup of 1980 conducted "political, social and cultural genocide" on Kurds and paved the way for the establishment of the terror organization, PKK.
The prosecutor’s office also launched an investigation into Emine Ayna, deputy chair of the DTP, over statement she delivered at the inauguration ceremony of the party's southeastern Batman provincial office on Monday.
