Turkish Airlines sustains "record" growth over past 3 years

Turkish Airlines General Manager Temel Kotil has said that, in contrast with an average growth of 5% among European air carriers, Turkish Airlines has in the past 3 years been growing at nearly 20% annually. Said Kotil, "In the air industry, this is a record."
Kotil noted that Turkish Airlines aimed to raise its number of passengers this year to 20 million, more than the 17 million of last year. Kotil also noted that of the flights abroad leaving Turkey between January and September in 2006, more than 4 million people out of 10 million had chosen to fly with Turkish Airlines, an increase over the previous year of 623 thousand.
