The summit in the prime ministerial offices in Ankara has wound up with a call being made to state organizations and civil society foundations to act responsibly and prudently during the coming period of legal investigation into the situation in the Southeast.

The meeting, which took place this morning, was headed up by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and included Chief of the Armed Forces General Staff, General Hilmi Ozkok, Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul, Justice Minister Cemil Cicek, Domestic Affairs Minister Abdulkadir Aksu, Commander of the Turkish Armed Forces Army, General Yasar Buyukanit, and Commander of the Turkish Gendarmerie, Fevzi Turkeri.
 
According to a statement issued from the prime ministerial offices in Ankara, the meeting dealt largely recent events in the Southeastern provinces of Semdinli, Yuksekova, and Hakkari. Plans for short, medium, and long term action in these areas were reviewed.
 
Illegal activity will not be permitted
 
The statement noted that "on the one hand the problems of the people living in these areas must be dealt with, but that on the other hand, illegal activity will most definitely not be permitted."
