PM Erdogan on tour of southeast flashpoints

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a hurried and unpublicized trip last night to inspect one of the central flashpoints of violence over the last few weeks, Turkey's southeastern city of Hakkari. During the evening hours in Ankara, PM Erdogan hosted Qatari Deputy PM Al Thani at his official residence, but reportedly ordered aides at that time to prepare his private plane for the trip to to the southeast.
Shortly after the dinner with Al Thani, PM Erdogan and his security entourage left for Van, from where they will tour Hakkari, Semdinli, and Yuksekova later today. The PM is expected to return to Ankara tonight.
