Former Prime Minister Mesut Yilmaz is Before the Supreme Court

The trial of Former Prime Minister Mesut Yilmaz and Former State Minister Gunes Taner due to "causing corruption in Turkbank awarding" has started before the Supreme Court. Mesut Yilmaz came at 9.50 a.m. to the hall where the hearing would be hold. When Yilmaz entered the hall, the ANAP members watching the hearing stood up. After Yilmaz and his attorneys-at-law took their place at the hearing, Gunes Taner and his attorney-at-law took their place at the hall.

The Supreme Court team, which is trying a former prime minister for the first time, is constituted by Chairman Mustafa Bumin, Deputy Chairman Hasim Kilic, Members Sacit Adali, Fulya Kantarcioglu, Tulay Tugcu, Fazil Saglam, Serdar Ozguldur, Ahmet Akyalcin, Mustafa Yildirim, Mehmet Erten and Necmi Ozler.
Mesut Yilmaz and his attorneys-at-law Ugur Alacakaptan and Aydin Metin, and Gunes Taner and his attorney-at-law Omer Lutfu Avsar attended the hearing.
High Appeals Court Head Public Prosecutor Nuri Ok, High Appeals Court Deputy Head Public Prosecutor Abdurrahman Yalcinkaya and High Appeals Court Public Prosecutor Cetin Aslan are at the prosecution position.
