Action taken for hostages in Nigeria

ANKARA – A ship that was attacked Monday by pirates in Nigeria was a Marshallese-flagged Turkish ship.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the maritime undersecretariat launched the necessary initiatives for release of the Turkish citizens. The ship, Aleyna Mercan, was attacked, and the pirates took hostage captain Sinan Taşkıran and engineer Salim Atilla Şengül.
