Salih Uzun was elected chairman of Turkey's Motherland Party (ANAP) in an extraordinary party congress held on Saturday. (UPDATED)

Also running for party leadership include candidates Ahmet Ozal, Murat Akdeniz and Metin Karadayi.
Uzun received 409 votes from party's delegates.
The victory of Uzun is seen as the start of another figurehead era in ANAP, as he has been supported by his predecessor Erkan Mumcu and one of the party's most prestigious former leaders, Mesut Yilmaz.
