ISTANBUL - The Turkish-American Business Connection, a nonprofit organization, will host its fifth annual conference focused on high-tech business and partnership opportunities between the United States and Turkey on May 30.

The one-day Turkish-American Business Conference in San Francisco will concentrate on the areas of defense technology, e-commerce and mobile applications, finance, and renewable energy, the TABC said in a statement Friday.Â

 

Tarkan Maner, president and CEO of WYSE Inc., will discuss global growth opportunities and challenges high-tech markets face, and Murat Yalcintas, president of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, will discuss Turkey’s position in the global environment. They will be the two keynote speakers.

 

Richard Main, chairman, principal scientist, Mains Associates; Lutfi Varoglu, department head of international partnerships, Turkish Undersecretary of Defense; Keith Bhatia, senior vice president and general manager, Worldwise Sales, Movius Interactive Corp.,; Faruk Yarman, CEO, Havelsan, Inc.; and Prakash Ramachandran, CFO of Nordic Windpower Useful, will also participate in the conference, the statement added.

 

"The conference will provide valuable perspectives on the current global economic slowdown. Experts will also discuss strategies for these difficult times and new ways of collaboration between the two countries. We want to create a platform for anyone interested in international business – professionals, policy makers and students," said Efe Orhun, president and co-founder of TABC.
