Turkey ready to play role in US-Iran dialogue

ISTANBUL – Iran has asked Turkey to play a role in bringing Tehran and Washington together to discuss mutual concerns, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan told reporters on Monday night during a flight to Ankara from Mardin.
“We have said this before: we are ready. Iran wants us to play a role," said Erdoğan, adding that he had yet to discuss the matter with new U.S. President Barack Obama.
