Turkey's national soccer team coach removed three players; Ibrahim Kas, Halil Altintop and Yildiray Basturk from the Euro 2008 squad, reducing the size of the squad to the required 23 players for the championship. (UPDATED)

Coach Fatih Terim removed three players; Getafe's promising right-back Ibrahim Kas, Schalke 04's quick-pace striker Halil Altintop and VfB Stuttgart's creative mitfielder Yildiray Basturk from the Euro 2008 national squad.            Â

Fenerbahce's in form right-back Gokhan Gonul has been earlier removed from the squad due to injury.

The final line-up for Turkey's Euro 2008 squad is as follows: 

Goalkeepers: Volkan Demirel (Fenerbahce), Rustu Recber (Besiktas), Tolga Zengin (Trabzonspor).    Â

Defenders: Sabri Sarioglu (Galatasaray), Gokhan Zan (Besiktas), Emre Asik (Ankaraspor), Servet Cetin (Galatasaray), Emre Gungor (Galatasaray), Hakan Kadir Balta (Galatasaray), Ugur Boral (Fenerbahce).

Midfielders: Mehmet Aurelio (Fenerbahce), Mehmet Topal (Galatasaray), Tumer Metin (Larissa), Hamit Altintop (Bayern Munchen), Ayhan Akman (Galatasaray), Kazim Kazim (Fenerbahce) Tuncay Sanli (Middlesbrough FC), Arda Turan (Galatasaray), Emre Belozoglu (Newcastle United FC).

Three players were removed from the national squad to comply with Euro 2008 regulation that each nation submit a squad of 23 players, three of which must be goalkeepers.

At the Euro, Turkey competes in Group A along with co-hosts Switzerland, 2004 semi-finalists Czech Republic and 2004 finalists Portugal, who they play in their first match on June 7 in Geneva. Â
