President of Telecommunications authority Arasil said that the confiscation of GSM operator Telsim of the Uzan group does not transfer Telsim’s $3 billion debt to Motorola and Nokia, to the state. “It is only a transfer of management, not ownership. Theerfore, debts and credits are belong to owners,” Arasil said. Minister Of Transport: We May Put Up Telsim For Sale Transport Minister Binali Yildirim told that Telsim will be returned to its first owner or sold to third parties after a quick examination of its condition, reduction of credits and payment of debts. Telsim was confiscated by the Savings Deposits Insurance Fund TMSF along with 219 companies of the Uzan Group on Saturday.Yildirim also mentioned the Aycell-Aria merger, saying that the legal framework was concluded and the merger will take place next week. After 219 companies of Uzans were confiscated on Saturday by the Savings-Insurance Fund, another scandal broke in GSM operator Telsim. It was found out that, Telsim distributed unregistered conversation tickets (Contours) in return of its debts, to the market. Telsim collected the cash in return of the sale of cell phone conversation tickets, but repaid its debt through illegal tickets. The Uzan File The Uzan companies were confiscated because the family failed in taking any initiative to repay their debts for the Imar Bank which they looted. They also attempted to evade the sources of their companies from creditors and to pay the wages of their employees. The Uzans owe 7.5 quadrillion TL because of the Imar Bank. The Star channel and newspaper are among the confiscated companies of Uzans.
