Faik Meral, who retired from the National Intelligence Agency (MIT) and who was the owner of the privileged Green Passport which was found on Kafia leader Alaattin Cakici - who was captured in Austria on Wednesday- had reportedly used Abdullah Catli, who died in the Susurluk accident, in the operations in France against terror organization ASALA.

Catlı reportedly laid a bomb onto the Armenian monument which was built in Alfortville, Paris, in 1984 and gathered information about ASALA. At this time, Faik Meral was responsible of Catli and nationalists. Meral confessed yesterday, “We fought Armenian terror in Paris with Cakici.”
In his deposition to the Izmir Security, Meral said, "I visited Cakici after he was released. I might have lost my passport at that time. I could not apply to the relevant offices for my passport because I had no time. I have no connection with the escape of Cakici."
Meral was brought to Istanbul for a comprehensive investigation, last night.
